www.earpoke.com This interview comes from the documentary You Can See Me Laughing The Last of the Hill Country Bluesman, about Fat Possum records and its artists. Fat Possum is one of the only labels putting out blues worth listening to these days, and this movie documents how Matthew Johnson started the label with credit cards and his student loans so he could record Junior Kimborough and RL Burnside. This music is raw, dangerous, desperate, savage and alive, and nobody exemplifies this more than T-Model Ford. Aside from the aforementioned artists, there are also has interviews and clips of Cedell Davis, Asie Payton, Johnny Farmer, Kenny Brown, Iggy Pop and Bono, who for some reason needs to be in every single documentary from the past 15 years. “T-Model’s life reads like a horror story. At the age of eight, his father beat him so badly between the legs with a piece of firewood that he lost a testicle. His ankles are scarred from the chain gang. His neck is scarred where one of his wives slashed his throat. He has been shot, stabbed, pinned under a fallen tree with a broken ribcage, beaten unconscious with a metal chair. He watched his first wife go off with his own father, watched another die after she drank poison to try and induce a miscarriage. The only woman he ever really loved poisoned him at the breakfast table; he woke up in hospital that afternoon and never saw her again.” –”Delta Force,” The Observer, November 16, 2003

You know your baaad!!! when you have a t-shirt with your own name on it and rock a Peavey Razer Guitar…

aint but one skool n nats down n the delta,

This man is talented.

I heard this guy at the bean shoppe in No La

I saw T Model live some years back in my hometown, and 20 Miles (Judah Bauer from JSBX and his brother)warmed up for him. T Model himself sat on a chair, plonked on a cheap looking electric guitar, sang wonderfully, sipped whisky inbetween songs.Drummer Spam lost a stick or two every once in awhile, didn’t affect him much, wonderful guy!I asked mr.Ford afterwards about the rumour of him killing a guy years ago,and he said with a serious face;”it was nessessary”,then we both burst out laughing!Hmmm…

I laughed so hard my sides hurt when he said that. This is one of the most wonderful videos I’ve ever seen. Great at so many levels!

This man was AMAZING at the Hill Country Picnic this year. Jack Daniel Time- and that’s fo’ gah-damn-sho’.

I’m a’ play this muthafucka….it’s got to be the title of one of his albums.
Shine on. The RMC

I’ve seen a vid of Junior Kimbrough playing a Jackson Dinky.

Hey Igotdablues,

Its a little tough to make out 100% since its a short live clip, but I’m pretty sure its “T-Model Theme Song” from my personal favorite ‘Pee Wee Get My Gun’

Does anybody know the name of the song at 0:56? I have always wanted to meet T Model since he is probably the only idol I have that is still alive… I love his style and for not starting until he was 58 with only one ball now that’s just amazing…

Cracks me up to see an old bluesman picking on what essentially looks like a heavey metal axe!

T Model Ford rules!!

He once said to a friend of mine

“You know I had 24 children and I remember all their names”

LOLLL,,,”I’ma play dis mudafucka”—– You gotta love him!

You were 58 when you began playing guitar ! That cant be right!

Great video title because this pops up a lot. Hopefully a few college students will see it and realize how the government has screwed it up.
